My work, mostly oils or acrylic, covers a wide range of subjects but tends to follow two themes. The first tells a story, often based on a fairy tale or mythology and usually with a humorous or dark side to it. The second is a more traditional art where I choose my subject by what appeals to me rather than any particular type of subject, although I have developed a sideline in animal portraits, usually horses, and have painted commissions based on that. I try to paint to capture the nature or feel of a subject rather than a photographic likeness.
I have been painting for many years but outside of my main career, working in London. I have now retired and moved to beautiful Sherborne where I am able to spend much more time in the studio.
Have just completed a very successful first participation in Dorset Art Weeks and also showed with Yeovil Art Group at the Octagon. Forthcoming entries for Sherborne Art Club (of course) and Bruton. Anyone wishing to view my permanent studio exhibition please contact me - details here or on my website.
